Honorary worker of higher professional education of the Russian Federation, Honored Scientist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, corresponding member of  Russian Academy of Natural History, member of the Russian Association of Cognitive linguistics, the founder of the North Ossetian school cognitive, psycholinguistics and discourse studies.

Awarded the European diploma and the medal for professional activities (Diploma di Merito) for  year 2016 for merits in the development of science, culture and education.

Founder and chief editor of the  scientific peer-reviewed journals "Current Issues in Philology  and Pedagogical Linguistics", executive secretary and member of the editorial Board of the journal "Bulletin of North Ossetian State University" (2010-2016); member of the editorial Board of the scientific peer-reviewed journals “Pyatigorsk State University Bulletin”, "Linguodidactica" (Poland), member of the editorial Board of the Russian Association of Cognitive Linguistics almanac "Language. Text. Discourse".

Education: Faculty of Foreign Languages, Taganrog State Pedagogical Institute, English and Spanish, post graduate studies at General and comparative historical linguistics chair, Bashkir state University, doctoral studies at the chair of Russian language and General linguistics of  Kabardino-Balkarian State University, speciality – theory of language.

Tatiana Yu. Tamerian supervises graduate training direction "Linguistics and literary criticism".

Research interests: Romance, Germanic, Iranian and Slavic languages, general and comparative linguistics, cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics, anthropological linguistics and intercultural communication.
